Spamadelic

Ok ... I've been discovered by one particularly dorky spammer. He's just posted a spam comment to every single previous post! I am now investigating the options. There is a good summary here, but the best bets seem to be MT-Blacklist and SCode. However according to this page, SCode hasn't been tested with MT 3.x yet. In the meantime I've turned on comment approval, so comments will no longer appear on this site until approved by me. Sorry about that, hopefully it won't last long. Watch this space!

I've been reading posts on MT comment spamming. Just wanted to see what your attempts look like. Seems I had to enter this information twice which is weird (I clicked Preview first, now I'll just click Post).

Thanks for mentioning that, I hadn't noticed it but you are correct there is definitely a problem there. I might just remove the preview button while I investigate :)

Hi, the form data not showing up in the preview is a bug from an early MT 3 template. Take a look at the current default template and update the relevant comment area code and it should fix the problem.

Thanks for that Judi :)

After looking up the bug you referred to I discovered the MTCommentFields tag. Luckily I haven't been using this (my templates are still largely left over from MT2.661). I guess the main reason to use it is for TypeKey, which I don't use.

Anyway, you set me off on the right track, after having a look the default templates from 2.661 I discovered that my template was missing the MTCommentPreview arguments on each input declaration. I don't know where they went, because previews used to work on this site. Putting them in seems to have fixed my previews :) . Thanks again!
